We had visitors today! Lori, Tyler & Brant came to visit. We were so glad to see them. We can't wait for the day that Gavin is old enough to keep up with Brant. They are going to make great playmates.
Todays blog post is brought to you by SLEEP. I snapped this one right before I left to go take some sports candids this afternoon. Gavin slept almost all afternoon, along with Brittany and I. Thanks to Brittany's sister Amanda for watching him while we got some extra sleep!
Today Gavin is one week old today! He's getting old!
Gavin is 5 days old. It also happens to be my birthday. We got to spend some quality time at home just the three of us. Brittany and I set up a background and lights to create a small studio in our living room and with the help of my mother-in-law in the roll of warmer and distracter we got some great images. This one stuck out to me because he's only 5 days old he can already hold his head up and keep it there for a good bit. At least long enough for me to snap this photo. He looks so funny and old. It amazes me how much of a personality babies can have being only days old. Below are a few others from todays mini photo shoot!
Today was awesome! After a long first night at home, Gavin was finally eating great and got plenty of sleep. We spent most of the day with family and friends visiting. I got this shoot with the help of mom and my sister holding a white sheet about 3 feet above Gavin. I bounced my speedlight off of the sheet.
We chose my dad's first name as Gavin's middle name. The Kohns family has a rich heritage of Godly men and I pray that I would set an example for Gavin just as my Dad did for me. This one's to you Dad!
Posting from the iphone! A little test for when we are at the hospital.
Gavin's room is waiting and ready! We are headed to the hospital tomorrow. Brittany is going to be induced because our doctor doesn't want her to go overdue because of the strain on Brittany's back. We are still suspecting that Gavin may be breeched but I guess we will see in the morning.
Brittany painted these awesome canvases for Gavin's room, accompanied by handmade items off Etsy (like the owls in the previous post) and the bedding made by my Mom, Gavin has a fantastic and unique nursery! Now if only he'd show up to occupy it!
We visited the doctor today and Brittany is still between 2-3cm dilated so we may have some time left to wait. This week has brought irregular contractions to the tune of 3-5 most days with the occasional day without any contractions at all. I guess you all must continue to stick to using your imagination to picture what he looks like.
